Greys Anatomy Wanna Be. Ugh I don't even know where to begin. How are there so many 5 stars for this stupid book. I want my time back, surely there are some professional women out there too and not just bored suburban house wives that think that being a female physician is what you seen on TV. It is clear this author knows NOTHING about the medicine or being a female doctor. Try to atleast shadow or interview a female surgeon before trying to write this, honey.1) Kissing a patient the day you meet him IN HIS HOSPITAL room is a HUGE moral and ethical issue. You WILL absolutely lose your medical license. That is sexual harassment just like if a male were to take advantage of a vulnerable female patient. That is not sexy, its weak minded and stupid. All she had to do was NOT scrub into the surgery, but we are supposed to believe that one surgery makes or break your career. This isn't like writing a book on amazon or something, its actually a lifetime career. All she had to do was say, I have a personal interest in this patient, so I am just going to observe, not scrub in. There are laws about treating such people. She would go to JAIL not just get suspended.2) You can write medical article by just observing with your attending, and NO case report mentions patients name so you actually dont need a waiver to write an article about a procedure. Why would you even mention it.3) I almost vomitted when she kisses and sleeps with her patient in the hospital yet an ATTENDING using her first name "is pushing professional boundaries." There is nothing remotely pleasing about an emotionally stunted, whiny chick who the author was like, hey I like this episode of greys anatomy, what if I write a book about what its like. This is something some of us go to school/training for 13 years to be able to do. We know how to handle things like emotions without doing illegal, unethical, immoral things.4) I would have had a lot more respect if she had lost her job, her license, and decided to do research or something because there is no way if a female doctor slept with her patient and the media found out about it, in this day in age, she wouldnt get ANNIHILATED and the rest of us would have had to suffer too.What a waste of my time. On the very first page, the author uses taught instead of taut. A couple of pages later, it's clear that she doesn't have a clear understanding of the meaning of self-deprecating. And so on. I SO appreciate a well written story, but a poorly crafted one drives me nuts. This review is for those who feel like I do. If mangled and careless language doesn't bother you, you may love this book. I couldn't delete it fast enough.Cannot recommend. Will not seek out other books by this author.
